WUZZUF managed to position itself as the #1 sourcing platform in Egypt, we still had the vision of taking it further ahead. To achieve that, we looked thoroughly into every opportunity throughout the recruitment process. We came to the conclusion of the screening being the 2nd most important phase in the recruitment process, we knew it was crucial to empower employers in this phase.
We already have a competitive ATS, but our vision was to build a more powerful ATS, by empowering employers during their screening of candidates, making it even more accessible in all its stages from the initial screening phase to more advanced ones.
To measure our success, we had to keep an eye on employers’ actions across our ATS.
Such a goal required extensive user research, to understand their behavior throughout the entirety of the recruitment process.
To kick off the research, we started observing users’ behavior on our ATS through recorded sessions to sympathize with their current experience with the ATS.
Analyzing data, we found most of the applications had no actions taken on them. On the other hand, the average of the viewed applications got a very small amount of shortlisted, a little bit more got rejected and the majority got no actions. We had a hypothesis, users don’t take action because they have their own ATS where they organize and communicate. Maybe it’s an actual ATS hosted somewhere or an excel sheet.
